No New Year blues this year for I thought 2011 was a good year spent and I look forward to a better year ahead with him :)

2011 started off hectic because of the project load of school and also attachment.
But because of someone I met it turned out for the better.

Someone who accepts who I am.
Someone who never fails to make me laugh.
Someone who loves me.
Someone whom I love.
Someone who completes me.
Someone who I can see my future with.
Someone who I can rely on.

Thank god I found him :)

It's just feel so different when you met the right one, you just can feel it.

One of my favourite song...a song about Vincent Van Gogh, an impressionist artist.

"The song "Vincent" is a tribute of Don Mclean to the world's most prolific painter, Vincent van Gogh. Most of the lyrics are actually titles (e.g. "the starry night") or description of Vincent's paintings.

Don Mclean is emphatic of Vincent's fate, like the rest of other artists (and even poets). During their time, their pieces of work were not being appreciated and sometimes regarded as worthless. Nonetheless, their hardwork's value or importance is only realized when they're long gone. Of Vincent's more or less a thousand works of art, he only sold one of his paintings.

Employing an "impressionist" style, Vincent paints everything the human eye can see, including still objects. Impressionism gives life and meaning to a subject by stressing a tone and mood different from that of the subject (as in the song's lyrics... "colors changing hue"). During his time, impressionism is not acclaimed as that of the pure or classical style of painting (the likes of raphael & michaelangelo). Most people regarded Vincent's work as junk and Vincent himself as lunatic.

Vincent lived his life as a painter in seclusion, although he has his landlord's family to live with. Perhaps with his exhausting job (finishes at an average of more than one painting a day) and the treatment that he got from the people around him, Vincent suffered from mental disorder. He cut-off one of his earlobe and have a portrait painted. After an altercation and parted with Gaugin (considered as Vincent's best friend), he suffered further depression and took his life with a handgun. He did not died instantly (he even had his last portrait painted).

People during Vincent's time misunderstood him and didn't listen to what he is trying to tell them. Although he has long been gone, the voices from within his works of art are resonating through all generation that succeeded him. And perhaps... people will now listen."

I have a habit of checking my MSN chat history occasionally and I find it quite nice to read about it once a while, looking at the past jokes that I've made and things that we've shared and the relationships we once had.

You see, time passes and things change every now and then and that goes the same for relationship. I mean general relationship between friends, family and couples do change...

Take for example, at this certain period of time in life, you have a very close friend and you all would talk about everything under the sun...and after that certain period, things changed and you all started talking less and eventually become obsolete. It's sad but what can we do? Afterall a relationship involves both parties and we just have to put in effort to maintain it...and it's sad when you look back at this conversation history and find that there is no recent updates anymore.

Another example will be between couples. The type of conversation you had before the start of a relationship and in the middle of a relationship is actually drastically different. It would be rather interesting to read it again and figure out what you were actually thinking of then.

So, save your conversation history =)

NIE started...my timetable is tolerable since there's no 0830 lesson so I decided not to apply for hall and give the less fortunate a chance =)

Last week was totally draining because of orientation, gatherings and insomnia which resulted in a severe sleep deficit. But no worries, I had repaid the sleep debt!

Spent a night at MBS with my beloved squaddies! Don't we just love "pass the message" game? And don't we just love acting out the play which was written by the brilliant me in just one night? Haha I love my squaddies' enthusiasm and craziness. And of course we all love playing monopoly deal till the morning light! Yes! I finally bought monopoly deal!! Brilliant game! We have people like xing qi who takes forever to plan her actions, yee chien who analyzes every single move verbally at 3 plus in the morning! when jia xin and I were trying to finish the game asap to sleep!

Went over to ck's hse the next day for a simple dinner! Just chilling around, eating, watching tv, chatting and playing with kate! She's so adorable and I'm like her new best friend! How I wish I could go to playschool with her instead of NIE haha the journey is just so long........

Yes and I learnt from Qi (I can acty learn sth from her lol!) that booger eating has benefits! lol! But I aint going to try this! Read the article here!

I'm seeing this world in a different light.

Complexity of human's mind is not to be undermined.

What are the thoughts or emotions hidden in the unconscious of a person? Why do they want to repress such thoughts? Will I ever know? No. Because I'm not a psychoanalyst. Believe even psychoanalysts have their bottleneck at times.

Anyway, I'm intrigued by this "Memory Palace" technique. Interested parties can google it. Basically it is said to be the best technique used for memorizing. I'm trying to self-attained this. Okay, maybe I havent been using my brain in quite a while that's why I am trying to maximize the capacity of my brain.

Well, report showed that there is an decrease in human brain size. Some said brains have become smaller but increased in efficiency. And some said that the brain shrunk because people didn't have to be as smart to stay alive.

New Year Challenge! How come I feel that I have 2 challenges instead of 1! Wearing Hui Qi's dress is yet another challenge hahaz ok maybe shall be my costume for Halloween!

ok I will drag myself to learn the guitar and to be the next Taylor Swift lol! Come on! I am already a proud composer of 2 songs! Jamming is my new hobby!

I love how we come out with insane challenges for each other...trust me...this is already the revised version lol! We had other ideas like wearing a wig down orchard road for lgy and visiting north korea for pz but eventually decided to settle for some personal development stuff haha...

Our challenges are all pretty much related to korea because we had dinner at Full House, a korean restaurant off tanjong katong road...and ideas just flowed into our minds with the endless korean mvs that were being played and maybe because of the korean rice wine (makkoli). It tastes so good! I'm so going to get a dozen for CNY! And the best idea of the day must be Bae Eugene haha that's so hilarious! I think my friends are all potential comedians...I cant stop laughing with them around...and they cleared my new year blues away!

It's the time of the year again...Pre new year blues yet again...

This year, had been a hectic one...time seems to zoom past like a speeding car. A lot of things happened within such a short time frame and before I can actually process it, everything is over. Anyway Year 2010 is not really considered as wasteful...gained insights of work and life...Hopefully Year 2011 will be a better one =)

I will strive to be a better person haha! Yes I may be a hypocrite but I still want to be a nice hypocrite =.= okay I promise to get more involve in community work, be more genuine (I will really try). I think I need to stop giving in to people. It's not a bad thing but I think I do need to stand firm about my principles at times.

Next year will be great! Hope everything goes well for you all too =) And if I ever offended anyone or upset anyone in Year 2010, please accept my apology. The past is the past and we will start afresh in the coming year =)

Recently I suspect I had some form of OCD (Obsessive compulsive disorder). I have to cover or clear food that was dropped on the table with tissue. It's a kind of instinctual behaviour. And this sort of put my friends on high alert during makan-ing session which really amuses me. It's like when someone dropped her food, everyone will be shocked and stopped for a while. Then start hynoptizing me or cover it up. It's actually quite funny haha but thanks for tolerating me =)

First Love

Wanted to watch the Thai movie "Hey, Strangers" but I couldnt figure out the name initially so I clicked on this other Thai movie thinking it was "Hey, Strangers" but it turned out to be another Thai movie called "Crazy Little Think Called Love" also known as "First Love". I think this movie is much better than "Hey, Strangers" which I caught later and I love it!

Well, this movie is based on a true story of almost everyone as the synopsis claimed. Indeed, I think most of us have similar experiences which made this movie so sweet and touching...

This movie is a kind of comedy romance, about this ugly duckling girl that had a huge crush on the school's heartthrob (he is really charming, played by Mario Maurer, of german/thai/chi descent). So the movie revolves about how this ugly duckling transformed into a beautiful swan to get the attention of her charming senior. There's a little twist in the end and I'm not going to say. Go watch it friends! It's quite worthwhile =)

"Hey! Stranger" is not too bad but I find it a little far-fetched so didnt enjoy it as much as "First Love".

Recently I'm addicted to Glee Volume 4 Soundtrack. Can't stop singing the songs....

Little things in Life

Urban folks just move so fast in life...meeting deadlines, achieving goals, getting work done etc. This fast paced society made it so difficult for us to slow down and appreciate little things in life.

When was the last time you walked, without thinking of work, problems, life and other things? Well, perhaps, you've never walked this way. If you are feeling real stressed, perhaps you can try walking for yourself. Don't think about problems, just appreciate every step you take. Be thankful that you are able to walk and you are still alive.

Went down to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) on a Sunday afternoon with my uni friends for an intertidal walk! The last time I went for an intertidal walk was last year at Kusu Island and that was fun too.

TMFT is known for their sandflies and thanks to the insect repellant, I got no sandflies bites!! But ended up with lots of moquitoes bites...ok I'm a mosquito attractant =.= We were so oily with the repellant at a point of time that we cant even open the water bottle. Quite an adventurous trip for me haha because we were trying to get over to the other side but there's no through road. And in the end, had to give up on the idea. Nevertheless, the organisms we saw made my day!

Mysterious holes with balls of sands nearby. Well, if you ever see this along beaches, watch out for the sand bubbler crab!

They are really small and harmless so do watch out for them and dont step on them!

The whole area was covered by these creeper snails. It's so huge in numbers that stepping on them was inevitable...I'm so sorry, I tried haha.

The eyes are green! I dont really know what crab this is, but from various sources, it seems like a juvenile stone crab.

Snapping shrimp. They have this large pincer which really produces a loud snapping sound. It's amazing when you hear that kind of sound generated by animal of this size.

Gobies! It's so small and swims real fast...not easy to catch it.

A dead fish pulled out my weiting hahaz...think it's a tropical silverside...it's silver underneath and really shiny that's why it caught our eyes.

Nerite snails

Operculum of sea snail! It's a lid-like structure that serves as protection against dessication or predators. The structure is actually quite hard.

A kind of anemone? Pretty little thing.

Seeing sea stars will never fail to bring a big smile on our faces! That will remind me of the sea star story...

Carpet anemone and anemone shrimps! The photo doesnt do the them justice. The anemone shrimps are so colourful and gorgeous! It's my first encounter with anemone shrimps! So pretty la!

Pygmy squid. Amazing! They actually changes colour. I always see colour changes of creatures in documentary but witnessing them with my own eyes are just so amazing! Actually i saw 3 larger ones swimming and it just show how wonderful nature is.

The day ended with the overcasted skies. We were all half-drenched. Umbrellas failed to shield us from the heavy downpour. But still, we had fun! Shall do this again soon!

The Sea Star Story

Just before dawn, a young man was walking down a deserted beach. In the distance, he saw a frail old man. As he approached the old man, he saw him picking up a sea star that had been stranded on the beach and throwing it back into the sea. The young man gazed in wonder as the old man again and again picked up a small sea star from the sand on the beach and threw it into the water. Finally, he asked, Old man, why do you spend so much energy doing what seems to be a waste of time?

The old man explained that the stranded sea star would die if left out on the beach in the morning sun. But there must be thousands of beaches and millions of sea stars!, exclaimed the young man. â€œHow can you make any difference?

The old man looked down at the small sea star in his hand and as he threw it to the safety of the sea, he said, "I make a difference to this one."

第一次听到这首抒情歌时，觉得这首歌没比“假装”或“妥协”来的动听。但反复听了几遍，觉得这首歌很有韵味也很耐听。

歌词的前半段，以口语化的方式，直接了当地把心情诰诉听众。在副歌的部分，把情伤形容成小伤口，听似没有什么新意。但后段却以再也贴切不过的方式，把小伤口心容得很到位。“只是小傷口那又為什麼隨時碰就隨時痛”，把那种在夜深人静的时候，不小心地忆起他时的那种心痛形容地好贴切。听了，好心酸，好有感触。

最后一段， “只是小傷口　時間包紮我我想念你給的痛”写出不少人的心声吧。明明知道受了伤害，希望时间能冲淡一切，但却还能像傻瓜一样，抱持微微的希望。结果换来的还是伤害。

at the starting of the song, there's like a prologue saying

my beloved fren (whom i shall not name) asked me what actually is 蒲公英. she said she thought 蒲公英 was a rooster. LOL i cant stop laughing la! so it became like the story of a caterpillar and rooster?? and the rooster ate the caterpillar!?? lol!!

anyway i like this lyrics a lot so let mi share a bit.
蒲公英 is actually dandelion and not ROOSTER! my goodness gracious lol

My Make-up Routine

Yes! This will be my very first make-up post wahahaz...ok I am not michelle phan and neither am i fuzkittie hahaz so it just means i am not a professional! My make-up routine is pretty simple and fuss-free. Nothing fascinating haha still i feel like sharing lol! ok so today's make up post will be school make up i used to wear! i mean for uni and poly la not for pri/sec sch =.=

1. Apply foundation or BB cream
ok, the current BB cream i'm using now is endorsed by jolin!!! it's skin 79 BB cream in hot pink. This BB cream is pretty sheer, more of a tinted moisturizer. And because of this the coverage is not as good. If you want to go for more coverage and try Etude House Mineral BB cream. The texture wise is slightly not as smooth but will provide a good coverage. I tried using fancl liquid foundation too and it was good! Just that I'm sort of into BB cream now :)

2. Apply concealer
Concealer i'm using is from skinfood rice liquid concealer. So basically i use concealer to conceal blemishes, dark eye circles and also at the corner of my nose wings and side of lips. This actually help to reduce the redness ard the nose and lip area.

3. Apply loose powder
Using Fancl loose powder! i sort of like it because it's fine and smooth!

4. Apply Highlighting powder
Hmm highlighting powder is like a pearly luminous kind of powder which i normally will brush under my eyes, at the t zone area. By applying at the t zone area, it can illuminate your nose bridge, making it sharper *hehe* important to note that you dont brush on too much of it! the highlighting powder i'm using comes from fancl!

5. Apply Blusher
Well put on the blusher!! yea i'm using fancl blusher too! normally i brush it in circular motion at the, i call it, apple of the cheek. Dun put on too much of a blusher! and now, what i normally do is to just brush my face with a little bit of blusher! so it will look more radiant and natural hehe.

6. Apply eyeliner
using the mac liquidblast eyeliner which by far is the best for me! i think i wear it to swim, also wun drop off lo haha! this take some skills to apply and i just apply a layer near my lash bone. ande depending on my mood i see how thick i will draw it!

YUP! that's is pretty much of my school make up routin! i dun draw eyebrows cos i find it weird to haf my eyebrows drawn and also i got fringe to cover! I only apply mascara and eye shadow when i got more time to spare or when i am going out! i'm also not a very lipstick kind of person so at most i will apply lip gloss which i seldom too. i think lip moisturizer shld be able to do the work! so my make up routine is as easy as abc!

Okay, I shouldnt neglect my blog like that! I will keep it going strong!!

After nus commencement, my dear friends and i had decided to take outdoor shoots! First photoshoot was with my beloved JC classmates, iris, yijun, min min and filina! We went to areas like clarke quay, fullerton, victoria concert hall, merlion, esplanade and were pretty much treated as the Singapore's next best tourist attractions. I think the tourists were amazed by us and we were amazed by ourselves too! I concluded that photoshoots are very tiring!! We were pretty much drained after the photoshoot so we had a good dinner at esplanade and viewed the spendid fireworks display! (there goes the tax payers money!)

At the bridge near Fullerton! We took the photos using timer! Poor iris had to run here and there! Mortar board made us looked weird and round! hahaz

This is a pretty fake pose hahaz in an attempt to throw our mortar boards. of course la! Dun want it to end up in the big drain! i mean singapore river.

The following week, went for another photoshoot with my seconday school classmates, filina, guan ying, hui qi, yuan fang and pei zhi! We engaged some professional help from peizhi's fren, eugene who took real nice photo with a real gd camera! Attempted to take pictures inside of tkgs but the school was closed!! so disappointing! So we decided to take pictures outside tkgs and at kallang river!

and guess what we did after the shot? Air our armpit!! hahaha!! the weather was so hot man!! i'm sure my skin tone darken by 2 shades on the Garnier Scale *lol*

i love the photos that we took at the grass patch!! it was really pricky and itchy but we had a lot of fun like little children!!

and.........where did the stadium kfc shift their free flow soft drink dispenser to??!? we had no choice but to walk over to macdonald in search of the lost soft drink dispenser! lol!

Well had great fun during the 2 photoshoots! though it was really tiring but it was, no doubt, enjoyable. :)

Anyway..........watch out for my next post man! i'm trying to get some viewerships back! lol!

Commencement

4 years in NUS has finally come to an end. Before moving on to the next phase of life, as usual, I will conclude my 4 years of university life.

I can somehow remember my first day in NUS. Well, I didnt attend any orientation programmes at all because I just dont believe in orientation lol! ok I'm just lazy and anti-social =.= okay so my first day of school is really the first day in campus and I keep getting lost around the science faculty. During lectures, I more or less sit with my friends from tj or tkgs. Took this freshmen seminar module during my first semester and got to know people like weiting and chelsia! and through them, I made a lot of other friends from the course which was really a blessing and made my life in nus much more enjoyable!

Lab sessions or field trip sessions in the course really widen my social circle in campus. I like the way how people help one another even though they arent really close and slowly forge a friendship.

Projects were not very common in early years of NUS but became like a MUST HAVE in year 4. Through projects, I get to know more coursemates and I have to say I'm quite lucky to have pretty good and responsible project-mates. Haha this must be the good attributes of the TANs since most of my groupmates will bear the surname TAN haha. And, I hate Q&A. lol. And, I dont like the clinical trials lecturer for giving me the worst results in NUS after telling us that our presentation was good.

FYP, painful yet gainful. Seriously, I learnt a lot and I cried a lot haha! I still cant believe i TEARED in front of my mentor because of the stress level. Reach school at 930am and could stayed the whole day in lab till 7pm w/o lunch! But I am again seriously thankful to work under my prof and mentor and with all the department staff. They are such nice and funny people! And of course my lovely fellow fyp mates, Sharon, Chelsia and Joanna. They really gave me constructive suggestions and encouragement during this period. And hor, my parents were super good to me during this period haha chicken essence, bird nest, tao huay (rochor one!) etc all sent straight into my mouth hehe now wait long long also dont have anything -.-

Throughout these 4 years, I had my fair share of joy and sorrows, ups and downs, fun and boredom. To all my friends and acquaintance, thanks for just being there! A nod, a Hi, a Bye, a Smile from you all had already made my day by telling me "You are not alone" lol. I am not very sociable so I am really happy that someone is willing to talk and chat to me! =) yup so keep in touch my frens!

Firstly a very big thank you to friends!! for giving me a wonderful birthday!! All the wishes, the surprise, the treats and the presents! I really appreciate it a lot!!

Spent a number of days with the little nyonya gang to play badminton! hahaz BACKHAND! it's really hilarious to play with them cos we will be trying our best to distract one another by weird outfits/hair, ballerina dance, singings and dancing! thanks for the baywatch swimming costume!! i will buy a life buoy to complement it!!

haha i think i watched Baywatch before! gosh!

Friday celebration with iris, filina and min min at tampopo at liang court! i like tampopo's cake! so nice! then proceed to a drinking session over at cafe iguana! Start of world cup on friday so the place was rather lively! Really appreciates their company!! Miss the days in taiwan with them...eating, playing, risking lives and watching TV (lol)! AND FAIRY HE! you wished mi a belated birthday and tried to shift the blame to time lag when there is no time lag at all! but thanks anyway haha!

On the day of my birthday, had dinner with family before heading down to timbre to meet squaddies!! surprise surprise!!! the cake and the drinks hahaz thank u squaddies!!! love to hang out with them talking abt nonsense! looking forward to christmas gathering!! *arrow elaine tay*

Sunday had dinner with sk and qi!! at Nandos! the queue is pretty insane but it moves pretty fast...most of all the chicken is good man! then again the place is v smokey. haha had fun talking to them about interesting stuff...joke of the day definitely goes to qi for talking on phone with u know i know sk know who hahaha! forgot to take photos!!!

ok i signed up for 7.5km race against cancer! wish me luck! i will start training tomorrow!!

Realized I've been neglecting this blog and losing my viewership!! lol! It's just plain laziness that I am not updating as frequent as in the past and perhaps my mindset had changed and realized I dont need to blog about every single thing. Furthermore, I dont have an exciting life too hehe.

Well after 4 years in NUS, I finally GRADUATED!! I was pretty much like taking a roller coaster ride when I checked my results. No doubt this is my WORST results ever in NUS! Thanks to Clinical Trials =.= To think I bidded at such a high point for the module and it turned out like CRAP. Well I accepted this cruel truth like 2 hours later so my honours class remained the same which is ok! At least I get to graduate!

Anyway, I did soft rebonding!! My hairs looks much neater and according to some feedbacks...I look more demure and look more like my cousin haha

I am back from taiwan and back to blogging! the trip to taiwan was great with my lovely bunch of friends! there was no cat fights and we managed to live in peace and harmony. Though we were exhuasted by the end of each day, we managed to energize ourselves the very next day! Perhaps due to the very entertaining shows that taiwan had hahaz =P

I think I shall just summarize my trip!

ok the weather in taiwan was much colder than i expected and especially so when u reach higher altitude like Yang Ming Shan! With min min's friend Tina bringing us around for a day, we avoid getting stranded in Yang Ming Shan hahaz...the bus journey ard Yang Ming Shan was no doubt one of the worst bus rides I had ever taken! We took the bus to a hotspring but unfortunately it was close for cleaning but...the passionate and friendly ah mas invited us in for a tour! so ya I saw a lot of ah mas changing hahaz interesting experience!

oh we went to Ye Liu to see the about-to-vanish Queen's Head too!

We tried soaking in hotspring in Beitou Spa Spring Resort! I love how smooth my skin was for that day!

Shopping wise...I did not buy as much as I thought I might hahaz not really my style but eating wise...VOILA! I love their food! Pudding Milk Tea, Oyster Omelette, Bee Hoon, JI PAI JI PAI (Fried Chicken)! we ate four ji pai in shilin night market hahaz, this delicious sandwich!, the crab soup, their KFC and Dante breakfast, sheng jian bao, mee sua and yam ball! etc etc!

Well we went to the national palace museum to see that cabbage sculpture and i though i might be stepped all over or to my death (touchwood) haha...the tourists there were like..........SO MANY and OUT OF CONTROL! no doubt the nosiest museum.

I am very impressed with the Zhong Zheng Ji Nian Tang! It looks very grand and impressive hahaz

Went to Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall too! had fun collecting the chops!

we saw this very important person (VIP) over there and lotsa reporters. cant believe one of us went over to ask the police about who was there and it turned out to be ya some high rankning government officials who i cant rmb the name hehe...we were standing a distant away as a precaution to assassins.

ended our trip with a day in leofoo island. well i always had this problem with heights...and i dunno where i found the guts to take all those crazy rides in the park! ok i gave up on two rides that i think my heart couldnt take it hahaz. but for the first time i took 2 360 degrees rides and went screaming like crazy woman...it was like so scary to be detached from the seats with the front support...ok this kinda of rides i think i can only take once hahahaz! and i never took a ride on a viking ship that was as exciting as the one in leofoo village...the experience is able to last me for a lifetime hahaz

i still prefer my little pony ride!

well thanks to my frens, miss iris, miss min min, miss filina and miss yijun for the wonderful and memorable trip! ok i will miss sleeping with you all *sounds wrong* and all the pre sleep activities *sounds even wrong*. Thanks for being such great companions!

Haha but i'm glad that it's over! Feel a little aimless...not trying to be sarcastic to those who havent finish their exams hehe. Finally! FYP is finally over. Felt happy and relaxed though there are still 2 reports plus 1 presentation to go in the final week.

Cleaned up lab bench and did some hand over on friday. Going around to say byes and showed appreciations to the department staff. they are funny, helpful and great people. it's a real blessing to have them around, helping us to solve problems when we met with one. i heard horrible stories in other labs hahaz.

went out for a mini celebration on saturday and finally got a taste of breakfast deluxe! then went exploring the peranakan and national museum before heading to plaza sing for a short rest and to city square mall! hmm city square mall is like a family kind of mall hahaz so it's not a very good idea to go there for shopping :)

ok i am kind of feverish now...i need rest!

just when i thought i could get done and over with my poster presentation, one of my examiners failed to turn up and i had to present another day =.= what a cruel april's fool day joke. eh my examiner is quite a nice person haha though i am stumped by the statistics part (obvious he is pro with it) but not he's not tat intimidating after all! hopefully the other one is ok... *cross fingers*

I never laughed as heartily in any lectures until today. hahaha the lecturer is sooooooooo funny! i juz put my head on the table and laugh and laugh hahaz maybe i'm too stressed but i think he's really funny! funnier than peter todd :X

anyway the lecture was on clinical trial and drug discovery...and he mentioned sth abt a particular shop that asserts that they dun do animal and human testing...so who are the guinea pigs in this case? CONSUMERS! gosh to think i still pay so much to be their guinea pigs! anyway one point he said that makes sense was that sometimes when we want to go back to the shop to find a product, we juz cldnt find it...becos...the pdts were recalled! omg ok i shall stop going there hahaz...

Actually a lot of things happened during the holidays, met up with a lot of frens but i cant seems to remember the details hahahaz and all i can think of is FYP! and i shant continue to complain about my FYP!

well, i had successfully eaten what i had hoped to eat!

Sushi with F4+1 gang! a hilarious meet up with them! talking and laughing and eating! the good ole days of IRC was one of the most talked abt topics in our conversation! To all the people who suffered due to our mischievous behaviour (i doubt they know who they are lol), I apologize. But i cant deny that it brought mi great fun then! hahahaz gosh i'm so unrepentant. Korean Food with filina and her other half LOL *ok dun spam my tagboard, i am just kidding* cant believe we got lost at chinatown looking for that legendary korean restaurant. i ordered naengmyun hahaz cos i like this song called "naengmyun" meaning cold noodles....acty not bad mah! just tat it's cold hahaz i can tell it's not v well appreciated by my peers lol anyway i gt bombarded by minmin and fairy for being there *sobs*

Steamboat with HSM plus disney princess plus calefare! i finally satisfied my long time steamboat craving at tianfu off tanjong katong road. brought mi some memories from tkgs hahaz...i loves the prawns and wanton and clams and fish and whatever! it's just so fresh and nice! haha everyone's new resolution: To snatch the prawns before LGY does. LOL!

Cooking session at Fairy's place turned out to be qte good and successful! and hey! i make nice korean style sushi can! just that the display and layout doesnt looks gd hahaz cos i dunno how to wrap the sushi nicely mah! but the rice was gd! i am a 天才小厨师 lol! last time there's this anime called 天才小厨师 on ch 8. everytime the person ate the food from the chef...he will haf this heavenly look and the backgrd will change into like a waterfall or sth...i like tat show hehe.

Passing of Dr Su

The news came as a shock to me. The passing of Dr Su. It's very upsetting and sad to hear about his passing.

Dr Su was probably the first professor that I had ever spoken to in my university years and probably the nicest. We were his first batch of Freshmen Seminar students and he took the time and effort to talk to us one by one. I still remember blogging a post after speaking to him. He was indeed an inspiring person.

I can still remember he treated the whole class to Spinelli coffee and chatting with us after he gave his physics talk. He was such a nice person.

I'm truly sadden by his passing. Rest in peace.

Hi to all! It's been a long time since I last blogged...i actually do feel like blogging but somehow kept getting stuck at the first paragraph and couldnt continue...

basically life's been busy and i am like very sleepy each day so pardon me if my memory fails and that i'm getting more forgetful =)let me try to recall what i've did...

orh! the trip to underwater world was great! saw a lot of marine creatures, having quiz in there, running around to find the answers makes me feel younger and more vibrant hahaz SHOPPING after the trip was definitely GREAT! haha the idea of not going to lab after class is definitely delightful!

some photos! more photos on facebook! lazy to upload here...but the last photo is thie marine creature called sea angel! it's found in cold regions and it's actually a snail like thingy w/o the shells...it's so CUTE! i like it!

of cos in this period of absence, i did some shopping and was pretty contented and satisfied! retail therapy really does help to relieve exhaustion and stress!

oh! and celebrated yf's birthday at minds cafe! haha someone commented that this is an activity too normal for us to do lol...cos we do more BOOMZ things like......acting? haha but once again, we did incorporate the idea of acting into our minds cafe outing!

i went for my cousin's full month celebration...ya i am 22 years older than my cousin...not too much of an age gap for i will always remain at 17 year old for her to catch up with me!

I used to think that dining alone seems a bit upsetting but I've tried doing for quite a few occasions and think that it's actually pretty bearable...you juz need to have the correct approach.

Advice on dining alone
1. It will be good to dine somewhere with good and stable internet connection (like NUS)

2. It will be better if you have a laptop or a netbook. OH i got a netbook! free from singtel broadband signup.

3. It is pleasing to be able to find a seat beside a power point. Not to poke your fingers in and get urself electrocuted but to charge ur laptop in case it ran out of batteries

4. Then...start watching SHOWS!!! like criminal minds season 5 and enjoy ur meal....

5. Most importantly.......have ur lunch after 2pm! hahaha where there is not much pple! my face was like twisted when i watch the show fortunately not much pple ard...i get v engrossed with tv shows as if i'm with them...

This is wat i did today haha and i lunch by myself for an hour...i cant explain my love for criminal minds but it is really a good show...it might not be a good idea for the faint hearted to eat while watching CM for the show sometimes can be quite gory...fortunately i wasnt eating tomato paste pasta...i wan to be a profiler in FBI!

I like with a pinch of salt off tanjong katong road! i luv their butter pudding or sth liddat it's so delicious! that i small portion doesnt seems to satisfy me even though i am so full. but it's a great hangout place to be at!

had ktv at teo heng teo heng at katong shopping centre...haha we went to the wrong storey den becos it was 10pm at night so it was pretty scary...pz commented tat we wer like acting in some horror movies...and the punchline came from lgy..."are we walking in circles?" WOAH! hahaz freaked me out lol...anyway teo heng is COOL and CHEAP and totally HIGH TECH! sang all the way till 2am! argh haha quite exhausting

spend the night at gy's place and this morning, we finally started on our long awaited PLAN! lucky for elaine and filina...luckily u 2 werent there haha if not lol...nvm becos of their absence, yf had successfully unleashed her hidden potential! lol!

just finished my presentation for tomorrow and before i start to study for my pharmacogenetics CA this coming monday, i decided to come here to liven up my blog and to entertain pple like yf who is obviously bored hahaz how can life be bored for her when sergeant mike is around...dun quite understand lolx!

life has been pretty hectic for me...trying my best to meet deadlines and trying to do as much as possible for my fyp. Group projects coming up for both toxicology and pharmacogenetics...hmm...i need a long break actually...feeling a bit exhausted and lethargic alr =(

anyway last sunday, i made my way down to kusu island with chelsia and our family hahaz! it's for the marine biology project. I enjoyed the trip a lot! i see lotsa creatures! get very amused by the fiddler crabs! when u are not moving, all of them climb out of the hole to monitor u! hahaz and u can see the beach full of their huge orange pincer lol! i think my father enjoys it too! he likes marine creatures! haha almost wan to catch a crab home to keep budden again it's wrong to do so! we shldnt disturb them! conserve the environment! i tried to pull out this snail from the rocks hahaz but the suction very strong! so when i finally managed to pull it out, it acty starts rolling out from my hand hahaz oppz sorry!

it's nice to spend one nice evening taking the ferry down to the southern island...enjoy the scenery, the sea breeze and forget all ur stress and workload...haiz but cruel reality smacks u right in your face the next day haiz...photos are not uploaded yet hahaz..

i am pretty deprived of shopping so i decided to shop online hahaz! and i'm surprised by the new american idol judge! ELLEN DEGENERES!!! omg she's my idol! hahaz

Some thoughts....

The earth wont stop spinning, just like we are constantly moving forward in life. Basically nothing is constant, and maybe the constant thing is change. Since time doesnt move in the other direction, so i think it's only reasonable for us to move together with time. it's difficult not to think about the past and almost impossible for which i think the past moulds our future. dont spend too much time dwelling on the past for time is ticking away and YOUTH will be gone in a blink of an eye! the days of the past serve as a form of memory in perhaps the hind brain? (haha no scientific evidence to this statement but just an example) what's more important is to look forward in life! things can only get better!

being in year 4 is definitely an experience of a kind... for the past 3 years in NUS, i can pretend that i dun exist at all...by hiding in a corner during lectures...blending in into the surroundings or morph myself into the chairs etc...

since the end of year 3 when i first started out on fyp...i know i cant pretend i dun exist anymore hahaz...i am being watched...haha sounds scary but it's a form of care and concern =) i'm glad to have a mentor that will keep a constant lookout for us and provide us with a lot of assistance...i'm finally not unnoticed anymore! hahaz and starts to get busy...and it's really independent learning =)

this 2 weeks had been a real exhausting one for me! hope things get a little better soon! and i seriously start to cherish my weekend a lot a lot and a lot! fortunately my lab doesnt operate on weekends hehehe!

saturday shall venture out to offshore islands to do my beach assignment! all the best to me and hope that IT DUN RAIN!!! RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!

i am trying to love myself more by....
1) eating on time
2) sleeping early
3) NOT TO LET ETHIDIUM BROMIDE TOUCH ME! must stay clean from all those carcinogens!! so i need to stay awake in lab! dun let ethidium bromide have a chance to intercalate my DNA hehehe

During pharmacogenetics lecture, we came across the word "Sweetie". I turned and askdc Fairy what is "Sweetie" and she replied me..."not you meh?" hahahaz that's like the nicest thing she said to me ever since i know her? lol ok a bit exaggerating...anyway sweetie is a fruit! a cross between an acidless pomelo and white grapefruit...weird...lol

Before pharmacogenetics lecture, had some free time so i went to lab and surf net lol :X .... and i listened to my good ole favourite song of shinhwa! "Without you"! What a sad song.

I hereby declare that my favourite module is marine biology! not because the module is that interesting but because the lecturer is so humourous! hahaz the kind of humour that is in sync with my frequency! a lot of lecturers' humour is not in sync with mine so ermz... ya hahaz

and i was so amused by this little joke in class that i laughed till i teared lol!

It was 9 years ago when we first met...in a totally strange and new environment, new faces and embarking on a brand new journey...A new journey in TKGS! 9 years later, we met up and did some catching up...TKGS is still the best place to be in =) had class gathering with my sec 1 and 2 frens and our dearest form teacher ms chuan!

feeling very nostalgic now! once a tkgian, always a tkgian!

haha we were the best class! so guai and everything hahaz jo said we were the sports class haha den i gave the weird look haha sports class? ermz ok den i realized we won the champion in sports meet and i cried during tat sport meet cos i felt the class spirit!

School has offcially started today! okay supposedly yesterday but i got no class BUT still need to carry out my PCR...argh i dun wan to do FYP *whines*

School kicks off with marine biology lecture! lectured by the popular and well sought after peter LOL he's funny but the lecture was a bit.......boring or am i juz sleepy hahaz great! i see lotsa assignments coming up! together with fyp hehehe hope i can survive through this ordeal!

and today's the first time i heard about the aquatic apes theory! it sounds pretty convincing hahaz basically it's the idea that humans evolved from primate ancestors who dwelt in watery habitats...

ok i will switch back to the "cavewoman" mode hahaz study hard june!

came back from dinner at vivo's queen and mangosteen! cool place! i like the drinks and the hamburger! woosh! had haagen daaz for dessert! yummy! satisfied!

I officially started on benchwork! it's so tedious, tiring to run PCR aka Polymerase chain reaction all by urself! Have to cast your own gel...long gone the days where gel are nicely casted for you...but not v difficult la...juz lazy hahaz =) orh my PCR results doesnt turn out good :( shall do it again on mon! enjoy my long weekend =)

i watched half blood prince on sunday...quite boring hahaz...but i was so amused by gy's reaction when ron weasley appears hahazn she's totally in luv with him la hahaz...ok he's quite funny and silly lol...but i think shld watch the movie in order to cont watching the rest =)

i had a funny encounter on train today! i was on the train ride home which take about 20min or so...so i was standing and this lady was standing beside me...so we were facing the train window panel den can see the reflections becos it was like at night...throughout the journey, she was basically playing with her hair, smiling to her reflection, do those cute poses like she's taking a photograph! i was standing beside her and i witnessed the whole process...i wanted to laugh at her but i cant cos too close! so nan guo!
ok i shant laugh at pple...i will be nice =)

ermz i teared while watching this video...i know it's a v predictable video...but i haf to admit sometimes i do get a little impatient with my parents...it's just that spur of the moment...but v often i will apologize after i cooled down in like 1min or much more haha it varies...everytime you're irritated, juz think back on those times when ur parents showered u with love! haha i know this is a skill on selective memory but u juz haf to do it lol! but anyway i luv my parents lol!

recently got addicted to G market wahaha! i re-ignited the fire within mi! online shopping proves to be so fun and cool! yeah!!!

*blow the dust away*

i am here to update! haha i know i hafen been updating this blog on a regular basis cos a bit busy and a bit tired and a bit sleepy heez budden i dun wan to disappoint my thousands of fans out there lol i suspect only got one haha YES U! KSK!

i fell sick on wednesday hahaz i caught a cold and a sore throat...sound suspicious but i am safe!! i had visited the doc and got some medication...and the prime suspect is the number of durians i ate. haha so friends, u all are safe!

and on thursday went for life science commencement...i have a number of friends that have graduated! to my friends who have graduated, congratulations! you all have move into the working phase of life! thanks for making my life in NUS enjoyable and fun =) I do enjoy the company of you all in class, at lunch and anywhere! really happy for you all! omg my turn next year hahaz i must remember not to fall down lol!

friday was too sick to go lab and ended up sleeping at home and watch mj memorial on tv for like 3 times?! and in the end i used my saturday to rush out my lab work! and i finally finished it like today...hope everything turn out well...

orh dear i really got nth much to blog about...ok ermz i'm planning of getting a new phone *yay* deciding btw HTC diamond 2 and sony ericsson ermz i forgot the model...anyway the sony ericsson has a camera with better resolution and in fact i think the functions are better than htc one...but i feel like getting a phone with touch screen hahaz so as to look more professional lol! hmm i haf 2 months to decide..hehehe
